"We received an overwhelming number of responses from our members regarding the Mayor's press release announcing that his Paid Parental Leave plan for managerial employees will be effective January 1, 2016. A large percentage of our members expressed support for the Paid Parental Leave concept but did not agree to the funding sources for this new benefit. Our members are very concerned about the re purposing and loss of the 0.47% salary adjustment scheduled for September 2017, as well as long-term managers losing two days of annual leave per year on an ongoing basis. Further discontent is based upon the announcement of this impending policy without any prior discussion with City managers."
