MR. THOMAS DIANA SR.
The NYC Managerial Employees Association (NYC MEA) sadly announces the passing of a pioneer for the organization, Mr. Thomas Diana Sr. Mr. Diana passed on Saturday, July 1, 2017.
Mr. Diana was one of the founding fathers of the MEA, and a dedicated advocate for all New York City civil servants. Thomas Diana Sr., working with his father (Raymond E. Diana) founded the MEA in 1968. He had a sincere commitment and passion for changing issues related to managerial pay increases, rights to dues deductions and the management pay plan.
For more than 25 years, Mr. Diana functioned in a pivotal role for the MEA. He stepped down in August 1993, to pursue other labor activities, while MEA elected leaders continued the great work he and his father had begun.
The organization of agency chapters and recruitment of managers into the association began with Mr. Thomas Diana Sr.
Mr. Diana leaves to cherish his memory his wife Pat, two sons, a daughter and six grandchildren.
