The Wednesday of the last full week in April is Administrative Professionals Day. It honors the contributions of administrative professionals in the workplace, including our members, who keep NYC government running smoothly and efficiently.
We’d like to send a special shoutout to our MEA DCAS chapter representative, Tina Ramsey, who serves on our Executive Board to help make the MEA stronger.
As we celebrate all administrative professionals across city agencies, the Department of Citywide Administrative Services (DCAS) deserves special recognition. DCAS administrative professionals help manage crucial city functions including recruitment, hiring, and real estate management. They also support the professional development of the City’s workforce through the DCAS Citywide Training Center, which offers training in technology skills, professional practices, and more.
This day also honors administrative professionals across all City agencies, including administrators and other office professionals. These dedicated individuals manage complex schedules, facilitate communication, maintain records, and ensure that daily operations proceed smoothly for all departments serving New York City.
