We here at the MEA would like to celebrate Administrative Professionals Day by thanking the hardworking individuals in the Department of Citywide Administrative Services (DCAS).
DCAS is the agency keeping our city government and the people who run it moving. They are responsible for recruiting and hiring new City employees, administering civil service exams, acquiring goods and services for City agencies, managing City real estate, and leading the City’s green initiatives. They are leading equity and inclusion efforts to ensure that our City government reflects the diversity of New Yorkers and is equipped to best serve their diverse needs. To promote the professional development of the City’s workforce, DCAS provides training in a variety of categories, like technology skills and professional practices, at the DCAS Citywide Training Center (more information can be found here).
