It’s always a good time to dedicate some energy into your professional development, and the Department of Citywide Administrative Services (DCAS) has rolled out an exciting opportunity to make doing so even easier! These professional development classes are offered by DCAS and a great way to enhance your career by adding new skills to your toolkit.
The DCAS training platform for New York City Employees is called NYCityLearn, which connects employees to a suite of training and professional development classes, including some new classes covering topics like artificial intelligence. The courses are taught by experts in both the private and public sectors, and cover the following areas: Executive Development, Management & Supervision, Professional Development, and Technology. The DCAS trainings are available to employees at every City agency.
NYCityLearn is a new Learning Management System (LMS) created with the purpose of making professional development opportunities more readily accessible to all City employees. One such accessibility improvement is that the new system is available online, as opposed to the previous iteration, which was only available in-network from City worksites. The platform has streamlined the entire process of participating in a training, from searching the course catalog to accessing training transcripts.
Employees interested in taking a class must be registered by their agency through the online Citywide Training catalog. Agencies may be charged for those who participate (check the listing). Each agency has a Training Liaison and/or Agency Fiscal Officer responsible for ensuring that DCAS receives payment.
