Chronic Low Back Pain: Diagnosis and Treatment

Low Back Pain: Diagnosis to Treatment. The objective of the presentation will be to convey general knowledge about low back pain (risk factors, prevalence), common presenting symptoms, diagnosis, and, of course, treatment options. Audience members will be introduced to practical information that will increase their knowledge of low back pain disorders.

Presented by Andrew Beaufort, MD  

Dr. Beaufort is a Fellowship trained, Board certified Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) doctor, who specializes in nonsurgical Sports and Interventional Spine Medicine. A Brooklyn native, Dr. Beaufort is an alumnus of the Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education at the City College of New York – CUNY, majoring in Biomedical Sciences with honors. Dr. Beaufort graduated from the College of Medicine at State University of New York (SUNY) – Downstate Health Sciences University. His physiatry residency was completed at his alma mater SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University. Prior to this, he completed his preliminary family medicine year at New York Medical College – Hoboken University Medical Center. Dr. Beaufort went on to complete his accredited fellowship training program in Sports Medicine at the Mount Sinai – Icahn School of Medicine’s Department of Rehabilitation and Human Performance.

As a Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation physician, Dr. Andrew Beaufort specializes in nonsurgical Sports and Interventional Spine Medicine. The goal of his practice is to partner with patients to achieve their highest functional level, optimize their quality of life, and experience less pain. His comprehensive approach to wellness applies his training and skill set to guide all his patients through evidence-based management for their conditions. Dr. Beaufort is committed to helping his patients navigate an individualized plan of care including injury prevention/exercise counselling, rehabilitation-focused physical therapy, pharmacologic treatments, and adjunct non-surgical interventions.
