Memorial Day is around the corner. As we prepare for a long weekend of festivities and the unofficial start to the summer season, we’d like to take a moment to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice in serving our country and thank those who currently serve. We are proud to represent MEA members who served as well as those helping to ease the lives of NYC vets. The NYC Department of Veterans’ Services offers a number of valuable resources to our veterans, including financial help, legal support, and housing assistance.
The week leading up to Memorial Day is Fleet Week when US Naval ships and naval ships of allies come into port in New York City. There are various events happening across the city, including a Search and Rescue Demonstration at the Intrepid Museum, a USN Band and USMC Band Concert at Bryant Park Upper Terrace, and visiting naval ships through tours.
