Halloween with Open Streets

The New York City Department of Transportation (DOT) is bringing back Trick-or-Streets this Halloween. The program transforms Open Streets, plazas, and corridors across NYC into car-free celebrations, providing extra pedestrian space and seasonal activities during one of the busiest times of year for pedestrians on city streets.

This year’s festival runs through Friday, October 31, with programming designed for all ages and abilities. Participants can expect:

  • Live music and performances
  • Interactive shows and workshops
  • Harvest- and Halloween-themed activities
  • Seasonal arts and crafts
  • Festive photo opportunities

NYC DOT coordinates these events in collaboration with local partners and other city agencies, including the NYC Street Activity Permit Office (SAPO) and NYPD.

The official NYC DOT Trick-or-Streets page provides comprehensive event information, including an interactive map that displays all festival locations across the five boroughs. The page also includes detailed event listings organized into three categories: Signature Events, Partner Events, and Parade Events.
