On November 18, the MEA visited the Department of Housing Preservation & Development (HPD) office on Gold Street for their Chapter Meeting and Elections. Mario Guerrero, Jr. and Amiel Weisblum were reelected to their respective roles as Chapter Director and Assistant Chapter Director, and Frank Hosein was elected to the role of Recording Secretary.
HPD is integral to helping the city run smoothly through its work in maintaining the conditions of housing throughout the five boroughs via code enforcement and setting housing design guidelines. HPD also helps promote housing affordability through various programs like the Rental Subsidy Program and various Affordable Housing opportunities.
