I am writing to you to say thank you.

When I rejoined city employment for the second time in my career, I never expected to face such a challenging initiation. What seemed like a typical “new kid on the block” situation quickly escalated into what felt like a coordinated effort to tarnish my reputation, involving both union and management staff. Despite my outstanding job performance, which was thoroughly documented, there was still an undeniable push to undermine me.

I was issued a Performance Improvement Plan (PIP), which left me feeling deeply concerned. In response, I reached out to MEA, and I was fortunate to receive swift and invaluable support. They guided me on how to respond in a measured and non-reactive manner. With the assistance of MEA, who reviewed my response and provided expert feedback, I was able to navigate the complex political landscape within the organization.

Ultimately, I am incredibly grateful for the support, guidance, and direction I received. Without the expertise and insight from the MEA, I don’t believe I would have emerged from this situation successfully.
