Medicare: Transition for Retirement

Confused about Medicare enrollment? Getting ready to retire? This program will cover important healthcare issues to help you as you begin your transition into retirement and explain the various aspects of Medicare.

Learn About:

  1. Enrolling in Medicare – Part B and Part A enrollment periods
  2. Costs in Medicare – Part B premiums, deductibles, coinsurance, assignment and limiting charge
  3. Part A hospital cost-sharing, along with services not covered by Medicare

This program is intended for those preparing for retirement. It will not address Medicare for those currently on the City’s health insurance.

This program is presented by NYC Department for the Aging and NYC Managerial Employees Association.

Advance RSVP is required. This event is for members only. Upon registration, each person will receive notification their registration is pending review. The office will manually review each registration to check the membership status and then a confirmation with the registration link will be sent. Each link is registered to the individual. Therefore, do not share the link. It can only be activated once.


Guest Speaker
Eric Hausman is the HIICAP Outreach Volunteer Manager, with the NYC Department for the Aging, specializing in Medicare Education and Training. He has conducted hundreds of Medicare presentations since 1998 on all aspects of Medicare and related insurance, both to groups of people with Medicare and to professionals. Previously, for 15+ years, he served as the Lead Trainer for the HIICAP program in New York State, providing training and technical assistance to Medicare counselors throughout the state. Eric holds both his BBA and MBA degrees from Baruch College in Manhattan. He loves to talk to people about Medicare.
