Member Highlight: Terrance Stroud

Congratulations to MEA member Terrance Stroud for being appointed to the White House Commission on Presidential Scholars! The Commission on Presidential Scholars is a prestigious group of private citizens who have been appointed by the President with the task of selecting and honoring high-achieving high school seniors as Presidential Scholars. 

Stroud has proudly served the City for nearly 20 years and has occupied managerial positions at agencies including NYC Department of Housing Preservation & Development, NYC Citywide Administrative Services, and the NYC Mayor’s Office. In his current role as Deputy Commissioner at the NYC Department of Social Services, Stroud leads the Office of Training & Workforce Development where he implements leadership development programs, staff mentorship services, and workplace equity initiatives. 

In addition to his illustrious civil service career, Stroud is a dedicated fourth-generation educator who serves as an Adjunct Professor at the Maurer School of Law and as an inaugural Global Affairs Fellow at the Hamilton Lugar School of Global and International Studies. At each of his academic faculty positions, he has led crucial career development and diversity pipeline programs.
