National Teacher Appreciation Week is May 5–9, 2025. This annual celebration honors the dedication and impact of educators who work tirelessly to ensure every child feels safe, supported, and inspired to unleash their full potential.
The National Education Association (NEA) is transforming appreciation into action that protects students, strengthens public schools, and ensures educators are treated with respect. For more information, visit the NEA’s Teacher Appreciation Week page.
The New York City Department of Education (DOE) recognizes that revisioning the school experience for our children is made possible by the dedication of educators and teachers in New York City Public Schools. New York City is the largest school district in the country, serving just over a million students. The influence of our teachers extends beyond the classroom walls as they forge strong partnerships with families, engage with communities, and provide mentorship that shapes students’ lives for years to come. From May 5 to 9, you can utilize the DOE All-Stars tool to share your appreciation for educators who have made a meaningful impact in your life.
NYC Department of Education also offers technological resources for students and families:
- Students can access all DOE applications – TeachHub, Google, iLearnNYC, Microsoft Office, Zoom, and more – from one place with NYCPS Accounts
- SupportHub provides technical support and answers to common questions
- NYC Schools Account (NYCSA) allows families to view their child’s academic progress and update contact information
- Parent University educates and empowers families through free courses, resources, events, and activities
- MySchools helps families apply to grades 3-K through 12 and explore school options
For more information about these resources, please visit the DOE’s Teacher Appreciation Week page.
Thank you, teachers! We honor your dedication, kindness, and guidance to our students, parents, and guardians. Your positive impact to our community is felt in all corners of the city.
