Looking to do something different this weekend? Why not check out one of the many NYC institutions taking part in Open House New York Weekend? This annual celebration provides New Yorkers an opportunity to go behind the scenes at over 270 locations across the five boroughs.
The event runs from October 18 to the 20, and things kick off with a free Opening Night Party in DUMBO. Throughout the weekend, tours are available at a wide range of interesting locations. Some of this year’s participants include the Arts Student League, Bronx Music Hall, Brooklyn Navy Yard, Fort Totten, General Grant National Memorial, Historic Richmond Town, Museum at Eldridge Street, Olmstead-Beil House, Socrates Sculpture Park, and UrbanGlass. Though many sites are free to enter, some require advanced tickets.

Now in its 22nd year, Open House New York Weekend is organized by Open House New York, a non-profit that focuses on equity in access to the city and its infrastructure to promote and foster civic participation.
