Silver Stars Info Session

Silver Stars is a new program designed especially for retired public servant, allowing you to continue to work part-time for the City while collecting your City pension. This info session will provide guidelines on how to apply, requirements for qualification, and the specifics of the program.

Marlowe Paraiso serves as the director of the New York City Department for the Aging’s (DFTA) Silver Stars program. Silver Stars is a new program designed for employees of the City of New York, allowing them to phase into retirement while taking on part-time City jobs. Mr. Paraiso has focused on workforce development, education, and community engagement for nearly two decades. He managed government and academic programs in New York and California, strengthening public-private partnerships across government agencies and with corporations, small businesses, labor unions, researchers, and nonprofits. Mr. Paraiso graduated from the University of California,  Los Angeles (UCLA), subsequently worked in the San Francisco Mayor’s Office as the liaison to the Filipino Community, and then began his career in New York City government as an Urban Fellow assigned to the Chancellor’s Office at the Department of Education. He now lives in Brooklyn and enjoys running.
