Summer Camp Lottery

Campers! The NYC Parks & Recreation Summer Camp 2025 lottery is now open for registration. This program offers children ages 6 to 13 the opportunity to participate in sports, educational activities, and outdoor adventures throughout the summer.

Key information about the program:

  • Lottery registration period: March 3 to March 22, 2025
  • Program dates: July 7 to August 22, 2025 (seven weeks)
  • Regular Day Camp: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. ($500 per child)
  • Extended Day Camp: 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. ($575 per child)
  • Ages: Children must be 6-13 years old by July 7, 2025
  • Locations: 16 camp sites across all five boroughs

The Summer Day Camp program offers a range of activities designed to engage and educate children. Campers will participate in arts and crafts, field games, sports clinics, computer classes, and comprehensive STEAM programs (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics). Additionally, the program includes cultural and educational trips throughout New York City, as well as nature exploration activities led by NYC Parks’ Urban Park Rangers. The specific activities, dates, and trip destinations vary by camp location.

Due to the high demand for the summer camp program, NYC Parks uses a lottery system to ensure fair access for all children. Parents and guardians can enter the lottery anytime during the registration period (early entry does not provide advantage in the selection process). After the lottery concludes, applicants will receive notification of their status (selected or waitlisted) via email by March 24, 2025, and will have one week to confirm their participation.
