Thank you, DOHMH & NYC Health + Hospitals

March 30 marks National Doctors’ Day, an occasion that honors the dedication, skill, and commitment of physicians providing high-quality healthcare to our communities.

We extend our appreciation to our members serving in the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH) and NYC Health + Hospitals (H+H). These medical professionals work tirelessly to safeguard and improve the well-being of New Yorkers.

NYC Health + Hospitals continues to receive national recognition, with key honors including:

DOHMH led the way in a number of important public health initiatives, including:

  • Village Interagency Task Force (March 2025): Coalition of 10+ agencies addressing public safety and health concerns around Washington Square Park
  • Expansion of Mental Health Services for Youth (January 2025): The New York City Council voted to increase resources for school-based peer-to-peer programming
  • HealthyNYC (November 2023): Aims to increase NYC life expectancy to 83 years by 2030 through reducing chronic disease deaths and expanding healthcare access

Thank you to all doctors and medical professionals in our NYC health system. We appreciate you!
