Subject: The Mayor’s Graduate Scholarship Program (MGSP) – 2020/2021 Application Period
The Mayor’s Graduate Scholarship Program (MGSP) offers City government employees the opportunity to explore and learn new skills and concepts at participating colleges and universities in the New York City area. City government employees can compete for scholarships for graduate study in areas such as business and public administration, policy analysis, law, education, engineering, nursing, public health, computer science, and social work.
Participating schools (see link below) fund full or partial graduate scholarships for City government employees selected through the program. The filing period for the 2020/2021 scholarship year is now open. The deadline for submitting your application is Friday, November 15, 2019. All interested employees should take full advantage of this worthwhile opportunity.
To qualify for the program, you must:
- Be a full-time City employee
- Have a bachelor’s degree by the start of the fall 2020 semester
- Remain a full-time City government employee throughout your course of study
- Meet the minimum scholarship requirements at the school(s) you plan on applying to for graduate study
