MEA Letter to NYCHA

MEA letter to Ms. Lisa Bova-Hiatt, Chief Executive Officer, NYC Housing Authority. Regarding: Pay Raises for New York City Managerial and Original Jurisdiction Employees (not covered under the 2024 Mayor’s Personnel Orders No. 2024/1 & No. 2024/2).

April 12, 2024

Dear Ms. Bova-Hiatt,

I am writing as follow up pursuant to the March 8, 2024 letter from the NYC Managerial Employees Association’s (MEA) to you requesting pay raises for Managerial and Original Jurisdiction Employees employed by the New York City Housing Authority.  As expressed in earlier correspondence, the approval of pay raises for these employees is extremely important.

The MEA is pleased that pay raises for Management and Original Jurisdiction Employees have been approved by each NYC agency, except the NYC Housing Authority.  We strongly believe there should be no disparity between NYC agencies in the timely approval and delivery of pay raises for their Management and Original Jurisdiction Employees.

It is recommended that salary increases, pay plan revisions, and provisions for work-life improvements be comparable to those detailed in the February 2, 2024 Mayor’s Personnel Orders No. 2024/1 and No. 2024/2 respectively for Management and Original Jurisdiction Employees.

I sincerely appreciate your concern regarding this crucial matter as well as your commitment to fair and reasonable compensation for Managers and Original Jurisdiction Employees employed by the NYC Housing Authority.

Very truly yours,
Darrell L. Sims
President
