MEA supported a press conference regarding the Medicare bill by Council Member Charles Barron and DC37 Executive President Henry Garrido’s reaction to it.
In their impactful speeches, Council Members Ari Kagan, Joan Ariola, and Vickie Paladino affirmed their resistance against the transition to Aetna Medicare Advantage Plan for retirees. The Council Members expressed their tremendous appreciation for the retirees’ contribution to the City and support for protecting retirees’ healthcare benefits. The conference was also presented with retirees from DC37 and other unions voicing their distrust and persistence in fighting for their healthcare.
